Today the ship is in the Queen Charlotte Sound slowly making headway toward Vancouver Island. Science diligently continues as does life aboard the ship.  Today marks my 50th birthday. Congratulations to those of you fortunate enough to have experienced your 50th.  To those of you who haven't yet reached the mark, good luck on your journey. This morning began with at least 50 Dall's Porpoises surfing the wake of the ship.  It was an incredible sight.  Never dreamed of being 50, let alone celebrating it in the north Pacific Ocean, surfing with porpoise. Check the page on this web site called, "50th B-Day With A Porpoise!"

This evening I'll take some pictures on the bridge.  Hopefully the sunset will prove as entertaining as the dolphins.  More on the science of life tomorrow.
